I have another blog!

Okay, I won't put to much here as I have an introductory post on my new blog, which I will link to... HERE. It's a retro TV/movie/video game/whatever blog about stuff I grew up with and revisiting them or maybe catching up on stuff from the 70s, 80s or possibly 90s that I may have missed. We'll see, it's early days but be warned, I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid... it's won't all be cartoons, I promise.  I just wanted to start a new blog with stuff I obviously won't have in my podcast. As this post is short, here's a GIF from Scooby Doo of Velma under-reacting to a possibly deadly situation-

Drop the Pilot- Legally Blonde (2003)

In a Drop the Pilot first, I actually have someone in studio with me! Lisa Smith is a fan of the Legally Blonde films... and my younger sister. We talk about the first film, the way the character of Elle Woods is portrayed here and I try not to be too much of an annoying older brother. The sound isn't perfect, we were on the same microphone but it's a lesson to learn for next time.

Bonus: Coming to America (Remastered)

Wait, what? Haven't we done this pilot already? Well, yes, it's the same episode but as I have gotten better at editing, I thought I'd go back and rejigger this conversation Tysto and I had about Coming to America. It would be cheeky of me to release this as an episode again, so "bonus episode" it is! I have removed background noise, coughs, gaps and some stutters but I don't personally think it's a particularly strong episode either way. I was still learning.Feel free to comment or e-mail dropthepilotpod@gmail.com with any feedback you may have. As always, you can find this pilot on Youtube. Also, as an extra bonus treat, one of my guests tells us what their favourite pilot of all time is, about halfway through.

The Ghost Writer (1990)

Tysto returns... from the graaaaaave.... not really but he's here to discuss the weird sitcom from 1990, The Ghost Writer. It stars Anthony Perkins as a writer who has just recently married his second wife. And his deceased first wife is not happy... Yes, this is a sitcom filmed in front of a live audience, with special effects and the dude from Psycho dancing with a skeleton puppet that is wearing a wedding dress. And I am here for the weirdness but it's unfunny and occasionally pretty terribly written.

Bonus: Star Trek Outtakes

Outtakes from our anniversary episode that covered the original Star Trek pilot, The Cage. Here we have more of Martin talking about Trek, some Owen laughs that were cut from the released version of the episode and Jimmy getting annoyed about his podcast getting hijacked. Contains strong language.
